Our Dental Practice
Is uniquely different from any dental practice you have ever experienced.

Not simply because of the pleasant surroundings nor because of the highly skilled professional staff, nor even because of the high quality technical work we do.
Our practice is different because our mission is different. In today's world you are offered many choices as to how dental health care will be delivered to you, the patient. You can choose an HMC, PPO, or CAP program. In all of these health delivery systems, you the patient do not have a choice with regard to your treatment plan, you are not free to choose the dentist who attends to you, and normally you do not develop a significant relationship with either the dentist or staff.
Our practice represents the 2-3% of dentists in the United States who have made a commitment to practice in a free environment. You are free to choose us or not. We are free to choose the best treatment plan that is consistent with tour needs, wants, and values. This is no idle, passive statement because we do not believe patients involved with HMO's, PPO's, and Capitation systems are free. Normally they receive substandard treatment that does not involve the patient as part of the solution. The patient becomes the object of cure rather than participating in the prevention and curative phases of treatment.

Patients with Dental Insurance
We are please that you have a dental co-payment insurance policy. We will do everything we can to help you maximize your benefits on a yearly basis. We ask you to keep several important facts in mind:
1. You have a maximum coverage per benefit period "between" $500.00-$2500.00, depending on your group plan. When dental co-payment plans began in 1970 they allowed the same amount of maximum payment per benefit period as allowed today. In other words, reflecting for a 6% per year inflation your $1000.00 benefit per year is equal to $290.00 in today's dollars.
2. We ask that you understand that we neither work for the insurance companies, nor do we wish to. We work 100% for you. We want to help you maximize your benefits, but also we do not want to be controlled by insurance companies nor the benefit packages they offer. Normally, in our office, you can count on your insurance company paying 50-80% of the total fee for services provided in a high quality private practice such as ours.
3. Lastly, we believe that a cooperative effort between you and our office will result in a dental service that we are proud to render and you are pleased to receive. We want to meet your needs in a way that adds significant value to your life and to ours as well.
Prevention
We have centered our practice around prevention and health as opposed to one that simply emphasizes emergency and repair care. The supporting gum tissue and bone are just as vital as the teeth themselves. Unfortunately only lip service is normally paid to this important area and prevention is often misunderstood and inadequately stressed.
The best way to protect and maintain the crucial supporting structures for life is to have a qualified hygienist clean your teeth regularly, at which time preventive procedures can be implemented to protect your dental health. While the responsibility for returning for periodic preventive treatment lies with you, we will provide an ongoing program of health maintenance with you.
Emergency
We recognize that emergencies do occur. Patients in our practice family will be provided with a telephone number that will allow you to reach us after hours. We provide special priority for you or any family member who had been seen in the previous year in our practice.
